As a category buyer at Ecorus, you will be involved in customer projects from the initial stages through to final delivery by Operations. You will lead and manage category teams and participate in projects representing Procurement. You will participate in or lead initiatives to enhance QLTCS in both direct and indirect spend areas. Your role encompasses both strategic and tactical procurement tasks. When necessary, you will support operations with supplier interactions. You will also work on continuously improving our supplier base and supplier relationships and drive cost-effective procurement for Ecorus and its customers. 

Your tasks

• Collaboration with Operations and Sales: Work closely with engineering and sales teams to identify new technologies and requirements and involve suppliers early in the process to ensure supply input is used in customer proposals and we are aligned across teams;

• Supplier Development: Coordinate regularly with suppliers and internal teams to communicate technical and project development, align roadmaps, and ensure suppliers meet our high standards in project delivery;

• Category Procurement: Research market, suppliers, and new technologies, align requirements with relevant departments, and select and contract the best suppliers for your categories. This is mostly for direct and can be also for indirect categories;

• Cost Optimization: Conduct price comparisons, initiate cost and value analyses, and lead negotiations on prices, quantities, and delivery conditions to optimize procurement processes;

• Coordination & Sourcing: Select top suppliers for requests, compare offers, update ERP, monitor delivery timelines, ensuring everything runs smoothly and on schedule.

What you bring:

✔ Bachelor / Master in Business, Supply Management or Technical study;

✔ Experienced (7-10 years) category buyer on tactical-strategic level with potential to grow;

✔ Background in technical project environment, and preferably in solar business;

✔ Able to work in an international changing organization with start-up mentality;

✔ Interest and affinity in technology in the broadest sense ;

✔ Driven and proactive approach;

✔ Positive hands-on mentality with strong communication skills;

✔ Analytical skills and structured way of working;

✔ Proficient in English (Dutch and German as big plus) written and verbal communication;
